Pedri wins Golden Boy award for 2021

Barcelona midfielder Pedri won the Golden Boy 2021 award for the best under 21 player playing in the top division of a European country.

The 18-year-old Pedri beat England and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jud Bellingham with a record 199 points.
Last season, he played more minutes than any other Barça player, and will then play at Euro 2020 and win an Olympic silver with Spain.
However, he has not played since September due to a thigh injury.

In October, Pedri – who joined Barça from Las Palmas in 2020 – signed a new agreement with the Catalan club that includes a 1 billion euros (846 million pounds) termination clause.
Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland won the Golden Boy Award in 2020.
First awarded in 2003, it was also won by the likes of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Kylian Mbappe.
