Harry Kane’s two goals seals a dramatic win at Ethihad stadium

Harry Kane’s stoppage time goal gave Tottenham a stunning victory over Premier League leaders Manchester City in a chaotic final at the Etihad.

Guardiola’s team thought they had saved a point moments earlier when Riyad Mahrez converted a penalty awarded after a VAR review, but there was another twist on the way and Kane, predictably, delivered it.

The Spurs striker, whom City had sought to sign in the summer, climbed higher to score Dejan Kulusevski’s cross at home in the 95th minute and spark the celebrations sparked by the traveling fans.

It was a dramatic finale to a pulsing match in which the Spurs had already lost twice and City had run out of time to find a third equalizer.

Tottenham’s first goal came just four minutes later when Son Heung-min rounded offside and corrected the ball for Kulusevski to score in his first start for the club.

City equalized when Hugo Lloris spilled a cross from Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan lunged to turn the loose ball, but they failed to convert their possession into more goals.

Spurs continued to threaten at the break in the second half and were back in front after an hour when Kane finished a move he had started and ran onto Son’s cross to fire past Ederson from close range.

Ederson again denied Kane and then ruled out another offside kick, but it looked like City would have the last word as they were awarded a penalty late in the 90th minute.

Referee Anthony Taylor pointed out Christian Romero’s handball point after the VAR review and it looked like Mahrez saved the point.

Kane had other ideas and his win means City’s lead over game-wielding Liverpool has been reduced to six points.
